Life is Full of Beauty Notice It: Best Poems Forever
Research has shown that people live longer when they are surrounded by people they love. We are beings that thrive in community and it is not healthy to deny ourselves human contact. For people that live alone, even a pet has been shown to increase the life span for as much as five to seven years. Source: Family Friend Poems

1. From Your Mama
Sitting on the steps, looking across the lake,
Wondering why, life at times, can seem great.
But in that second, it took me to just think,
My life could change, faster than a blink.
Is this a reason why we should always cherish?
Not knowing when loved ones may suddenly perish.
Living everyday, like it was our very last,
for our days could be very long or go by very fast
So I’ll cherish and take nothing for granted,
not say things that shouldn’t be chanted.
If this is the last day I have on this earth,
I accept my life, for what it’s been worth.
Tomorrow isn’t promised to young or old alike,
Today may be the last day I’m able to hold you tight.
Don’t wait for tomorrow, do it all today,
If tomorrow never comes, you’ll never regret a day.
2. Here To Stay
Our children are here to stay
But our babies are not, I’m sorry to say
They grow and learn everyday
In the most remarkable and intriguing way
We watch and admire our babies so young
Hoping someday they will go to be strong
Wisdom and integrity are a hopeful thought too
Their brilliance is amazing that much is true
Now they are in school and you don’t know what to do
The house is so unnaturally quite and subdued
You try to keep busy, a hobby of some sort
But it doesn’t quite fill the missing sound of children playing of course
Off to college and all grown up, how could this be?
Just yesterday it seemed they were three
You can’t wait to watch them grow
Then the day comes when you watch them go
Cherish the little moments so tender and sweet
They grow so quickly you can barely speak
But remember this, as I reassure you with a tear in my eye
Babies are your children and your children will never say ‘Good Bye’
As you watch a Great Great Grandmother holding that lil’ one
You are astonished by the miracle that’s been done
3. Remember.
As I walk through life,
I look at all I have done.
I had wandered aimlessly,
And wondered what I have become.
I have been through so much,
It is amazing I made it through.
The lessons I have learned
I am shocked I pulled through.
The times I wondered
What life was all about.
The trials experienced in life,
Can make all the good come out.
We try to make it day by day.
Remembering what we were taught.
Just remember some time to pray,
It is important,
We need it every day.
Life can be short.
Unexpected at that.
We try to take its punches,
Just hoping it won’t break our back.
Remember who you are,
Who you want to become.
Everything will fall into place,
When the time comes.
Don’t forget I love you’s,
Every chance you get.
The time maybe short,
There is no time to regret.
Life can be exciting,
As we all have found out.
Eventful, even busy
There is no time to be left out.
Remember who you are,
And Who you want to become.
The time can be short
Don’t leave things undone.
Remember your families,
They are the only ones you’ve got.
To carry you in times of need
They can not be bought.
Remember they love you,
Either here or there.
They will always be with us.
Help for things to bear.
4. Hands
I haven’t forgotten
That I am just one person,
That I am but one voice
Attempting to stand out
From the crowd.
I remember
That I have fallen
Amidst the laughter
That surrounds me, and that sometimes
It gets too loud.
I know
That I can’t sit here
And expect my silence
To evoke change
Without reason.
I can see
That I don’t know everything,
That I can’t expect
My hand to be held
Always.
I can feel
That time is slipping
By me, that it
Will be gone if I just
Stand still.
I have heard
That there are a million
Other voices that sound
Like mine, that want also
To be heard.
I’ve been told
That it’s not enough to
Wish for dreams, that I
Have to work them
Into reality.
I know that I don’t know
All that I think I know.
I know I won’t see all of
The places I wish to go.
I know I’m not ready
For all that the world demands,
You don’t have to always hold me,
Just let me see your hands.
I know
That there’s a lot
That I won’t understand,
That you don’t have all
Of the answers.
I haven’t forgotten
That I have to grow up
And someday live without
Your voice, your opinion–
Making my own decisions.
I know that I don’t know
All that I think I know.
I know that I may not see all
Of the places I want to someday go.
I know I’m not ready for everything
That I won’t always understand
You don’t have to always hold me
But sometimes. . .
Just let me touch your
Hand.
