Helpful Skin Care Tips for Winter Brides
As your rusty winter wonderland wedding approaches and everything is finally coming together, it starts to become a reality. Every bride wants to look glowing and fresh in their perfect wedding dresses, and this only happens with preparation. The winter is a difficult time for our skin as it starts to become a lot more evident that we have dry skin tones and that our regular skincare routine isn’t good enough. Don’t worry though, if you’re wanting to be a blushing winter bride and you’re worried about the state of your skin on the day, we have some top tips to help you prepare. JJ’s House designer Jessica is an expert in designing and skincare, so she’s put this list together, so you have the optimal experience before and during your wedding day.
Moisturise to the Max
We all have dry skin during the winter months when the sun decides to hibernate for a while. In the summer months you might not even moisturize at all, but when it comes to the colder months, you may find your skin starts to become a lot worse. Before your wedding day, moisturize as much as you can, we’re talking twice a day. When you wake up and then again when you go to bed. Ensure to gently wash your face or have a shower before you put any moisturizer on so you can be sure your face is cleansed.
Drink Plenty of Water
Water will be your best friend on the lead up to your big wedding day. We aren’t entirely sure why but water works wonders for your skin and makes us feel great too. This one might not be a direct skincare tip, but your skin will feel so much better if you drink plenty of water. This is also true for the long term too – you should drink plenty all the time, especially when it’s really hot or cold!
Exfoliate Around Three Times a Week
Buy yourself an exfoliator or exfoliating cream (depending on how sensitive your skin is) then use it around 3 times a week, perhaps 4 if you tend to accumulate lots of dead skin cells. Definitely, don’t exfoliate every day because you will ruin your skin. The purpose of exfoliation is to get rid of your old, dead skin cells and make way for the new, fresh ones to come through. Your face should feel lovely and soft after you do this! You can thank us later.
Stay Away from Makeup Wipes
It’s so convenient to finish your working day by swiping a makeup wipe over your face and head to bed. But, when you’re planning on having your big day soon, you want the best-looking skin! Makeup wipes are ideal for late nights or when you don’t have a lot of time but if you’re going to really look after your skin before you’re a bride, use a face wash instead.
Use Face Masks
There are so many to choose from out there, they’re all different smells and colors, you’ll be spoilt for choice! Try a face mask every week or two on the lead up to your wedding day, and before you know it, you’ll see a massive difference in your skin and the way it feels.
